How to choose jeans and be on trend
Let's chat. My name is Julia and I want to tell you clearly and simply how to choose the perfect jeans. In these articles I will share how to understand the quality jeans or not, which pair of jeans will emphasize your figure and which can significantly spoil your mood, I will talk to different people to understand what questions worry and try to take into account the type of shape of each. But first, tell you how jeans became such a necessary and familiar clothing in the closet.
History of jeans
Even 30-40 years ago it was hard to imagine how you can come and buy jeans. I think many people know that jeans appeared in America and were invented them by Levi Strauss as strong pants for gold diggers, and Jacob Davis, proposed to reinforce jeans with rivets. Thus came the traditional image of jeans with rivets on the front and later on the back pockets. For lack of funds Davis could not patent his invention, he had to turn to Strauss and offer him cooperation.

This alliance greatly increased the production and sales of the pants, contributing to the company's rapid growth and popularity. The Levi's jeans in the famous 501 series had five pockets, double stitching, rivets, a button-down fastener, a company patch, and a blue color. In 1886 they had a leather label with two horses tearing through the jeans. This was their way of underlining the sturdiness of the jeans. It wasn't until 1926 that Lee introduced the zippered front jean, 1012.

The first women's jeans
But when did women start wearing jeans? In 1934 Levi's took a big risk with its introduction of women's jeans. They were designed for women who worked on ranches and farms. This was a very bold move, considering women were already a rarity in pants and not exactly socially sanctioned. But in 1935, women's jeans had already appeared in Vogue magazine. This was no longer a uniform, but a new fashion. But still, women could not wear jeans everywhere.
The revolutionary was Marilyn Monroe. She starred in "The River Don't Run Backwards" in jeans in 1954. So thanks to the celebrities jeans moved into everyday life. In 1957 jeans appeared in Moscow. But they could only afford the children of diplomats or pilots who flew abroad. Only in the 80s came Soviet jeans, strongly inferior in quality American. And with the same 80s, many famous designers began to create in their jeans collections.
In today's world jeans are worn by everyone, at least once in a lifetime. They are firmly embedded in our everyday life. Properly combining jeans can be worn in the office, at a party, and on a date.

My first jeans
I remember my first pair of jeans as a child (now the most observant can easily calculate how old I am about). My mom bought them for me in 2nd grade and I felt very cool and fashionable, but looking at my old photos, I realize I looked terrible, unlike my older sister. She had these great, so-called "bananas" and "jammy" jeans. They were hard to get and people were standing in line for the novelty. Since then, I have changed more than one pair. From children's jeans grew into women's jeans and in my closet, at the moment I have several kinds of jeans - super trendy jeans mom, skinny, straight. Nowadays no one is surprised by the variety of colors or models. There were disappointments in my life, some didn't fit very well making my bottom flat. Others beautifully emphasized the advantages, but they lasted only for a season. Then they wore out in all the wrong places or stretched out my knees in an ugly way.

How to distinguish a fake
So how do you know when you buy your favorite jeans that they can withstand more than one season? What are jeans? Why one pair of jeans are worn for 8 seasons, and the other can barely carry a season? Let's deal with everything in order. Let's start with the basics - what these very jeans are made of. The most important thing in denim clothes - it's the quality of the material used. If you learn to identify the high-quality fabric and distinguish it from the fake, then it will be easier to navigate the choice of products.
Denim - the material used to make jeans - varies in processing and density. The fabric is traditionally dyed a rich indigo blue, but modern jeans come in a wide variety of colors and shades. There are several types of denim, depending on the production technology and method of dyeing.
The density of jeans is measured in ounces (oz.) per square yard. The total weight of jeans is 700 to 900 grams.

Lightweight denim
Lightweight denim is generally defined as denim weighing between 5 and 11 oz. Lightweight denim does not hold the record for durability. All other things being equal, lightweight denim jeans will almost certainly be less durable than higher-density denim. In addition, lovers of traditional jeans indicate that, compared to their heavier counterparts jeans made of lightweight denim less spectacular fade and not particularly beautiful aging. So you can buy these jeans, but not more than one season and as an addition to the basics.

Mid-weight denim
This is the most universal, the most common, and the most popular version. The density of this denim varies from 12 to 15 ounces (oz). The comfort level of medium-density denim is much higher than that of lighter-weight denim. And over time these jeans get nicer, more comfortable and softer. The best samples of this denim have high wear resistance, but at the moment there are a lot of mediocre medium-density denim. Our brand minnim just specializes in the production of men`s and women`s jeans, made of 14.5 oz. dense denim, with high durability.

Heavyweight denim
This variant is much less common than the previous two. Heavy-weight denim is a fabric with a density of 16 oz. or more. Sometimes heavyweight denim is up to 28-32 oz. and that makes a big impression on beginners.
Of course, heavy denim jeans are best suited for cold and cool weather. They are relevant even in severe frosts. In summer they will not wear them every one. Jeans that are heavier than 20 ounces are a bit of a treat.

Anti-trend jeans
Then what kind of jeans to buy, knowing how they differ in quality? I'll start with the anti-trends, which should say a categorical no!
- Jeans with painted pleats. They look inappropriate and cheap. This is not what we are looking for. Better to let the jeans themselves over time form their own unique pattern of worn creases.
- Bleaching and scuffs, like creases, are long gone. Scuffs on jeans act as a highlighter. And we know that highlighter adds visual volume and draws extra attention to figure flaws.
- Say no to appliques and patterns. These jeans are hard to match in an image. But if you are sure that you feel the measure and know how to combine it with other things, not overloading the image - experiment. Otherwise, it's better to buy minnim-alistic basic jeans.
- Jeans with a low fit. You have to be extremely careful with these. Chances are they will be back on trend again soon, but they're more likely to hurt your figure. Shorten the legs and lengthen the top. If you're not a tall girl like me, you're better off considering other topical jeans.
- 100% say no to jeggings. Jeggings are super thin denim, sometimes just made of fabric with a denim dye, very figure-fitting, elastic band with a drawstring closure. It's something in between loafers and skinny jeans.

The perfect jeans for you
The jeans that are always relevant and fit almost all women are classic straight jeans. All designers have them and they never go out of style. Choose straight jeans not too wide cut, almost fitting (almost!) your leg.
What are some general guidelines for choosing your favorite pair?
- High fit. Visually lengthens your legs, elongates your silhouette, and the tight fabric will also make your tummy bottom flat.
- Medium fit fits those who like to tuck their tops in. Shirts and T-shirts tucked into jeans always look better with a medium fit.
- Denim tends to stretch. How much depends on the density of the fabric and the stretch. Take it into account when choosing a size. The main condition is that the belt does not squeeze your sides. Jeans have almost no stretch at the waist.
- Loose jeans like boyfriends, culottes, or mom jeans, should open the ankle with 2 fingers. This way you will look slimmer. Or if you're a fan of wide-leg palazzo jeans, then they should cover your shoes. But palazzos, though a trend of the season, are risky to wear. They add a few extra pounds.
- A V-shaped flirt on the back of jeans will make your buttocks look more rounded and lifted. A straight flirt, on the contrary, flattens and flattens your butt. Like pockets - low pockets make your legs look shorter and your butt looks flat.

So, to summarize, my advice is to choose high-quality jeans made of thick denim. Saving in the form of buying cheap jeans will cost you more money, as they will last you less time than buying one but the perfect pair. Responsible consumption trends are becoming more and more popular. Be responsible and find your perfect pair. See you again.
