Jeans are one of the most popular and functional closet items. You can never have too many of them, and with the same pair, you can create hundreds of images. When choosing a new pair, you need to consider the quality of the material and the fit - to sit perfectly, to accentuate the figure. But every time you have to face the same problem: how do you know the size of the jeans? Especially relevant when shopping online. Let's understand the tips that will save your life from returns, exchanges and not entirely successful reflection in the mirror.
Quick instructions on how to determine the size of your jeans:
- Take measurements of your waist circumference and hip circumference.
- Measure the length of the product.
- Compare your measurements to the brand size chart.
- Determine the size that's best for you.
- Note that sizes of different brands may vary.

We've hand-picked some tips to make sure you're looking in the perfect size for your perfect pair of jeans.
1. Check the size chart in each store
The size chart may differ by manufacturer's country and then you may see different options: from XS and XL to 42-56 sizes. So the first thing to do is look at the size chart on the website. One way to find out the size of jeans - just to measure with tape and compare the data to the table.
On the site, minnim do it quite simply. To do this you will need the following parameters:
- Waist circumference;
- Girth at the hips.
To be sure that the jeans fit you, also check these measurements of the product:
- Length at the inside seam;
- Outer inseam;
- Width of the pant leg at the bottom.

When you measure following the instructions, choose the right size from the size chart.
Important: measure your measurements in the places mentioned in the instructions, and then you'll be sure to get the right size.
2. Measure by yourself

Another way to find out your jeans size is to measure the waist and the inseam. It sounds daunting, but in fact it's much easier. You'll need two measurements:
- Waist circumference (denoted as W (waist) in jeans sizes. You can do this by simply measuring the smallest part of your abdomen with tape and dividing by 2.54 cm (1 inch). Manufacturers most often specify sizes in inches, so you need to solve this simple example. For example, 73 cm : 2.54 cm = 28.7. Round up and we get the size W29. Important: When measuring, consider the fit of the jeans.
- Step inseam or the length of the product. We measure at the inseam of the jeans, which fit you perfectly. Then also divide the figure by 2.54 cm. You end up with a size L (length).
3. Take into account the model of the jeans

It's important to know how to size your jeans, but just as important is to consider the cut and model of the pant. You want skinny jeans to fit from the waist down to the bottom of the pants, so it's important to take this moment into consideration. Jeans mom or boyfriend on the contrary - should be more loose and relaxed. So if you're not sure about the size, it's better to choose a looser fit.
4. Pay attention to the fabric of the jeans

This is another important criterion that will solve the problem of how to choose the size of jeans. Be sure to study the description of the models on the website. If the jeans consist entirely of cotton, there is a chance that after washing in hot water, they will give shrinkage. Jeans containing elastane on the contrary - may increase slightly in size. Also, manufacturers sometimes sell jeans already pre-shrunk. Then after washing or dry-cleaning, the jeans will keep their look and size.
Once you understand and determine the most convenient way to choose the size of jeans, any model will sit perfectly. And remember, life is too short to wear bad jeans.
